Witness describes seeing man 'thrown into a garden' after allegedly stolen car flips over in horror crash in Wirral

A man was thrown out of a suspected stolen car after it flipped over in Wirral last weekend.

The occupant of the vehicle was flung into a garden on Bebington Road, according to an eyewitness at the scene.

The incident happened at approximately 8.40am on Sunday morning, and two men were rushed to Aintree Hospital after the car - a Vauxhall Vectra - flipped over onto its roof in the road.

One local told the Liverpool Echo:

"One body was thrown into a garden and the other one had to be resuscitated.

"It didn’t look good at all, I hope they’re both okay."

Another witness told the local paper they thought the noise was Storm Brian:

"I heard a noise, but when I looked in my back garden a chair had overturned. I thought Brian had finally hit, so I blamed it on him.

"The house shook after the crash - at first I thought it was the wind."

A man, who was in his house at the time of the crash, heard the car speeding down the street.

He said:

"I heard a car going really fast down the road and then it was followed by a lot of sirens.

"It was going at some speed, I hope it hasn’t killed anyone."

The car is thought to have been stolen and was seen at 8.40am heading towards Birkenhead where it was involved in a crash on Bebington Road.

Both men are in hospital and it is said that one is in a critical condition and the second is in a stable condition.
