Road accident causes Toyota to flip onto its roof on Valley Road in Kirkby
A car was left upside down following a recent collision in Kirkby.
Merseyside police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene on Valley Road after the collision was reported at approximately 6.50pm on Saturday 13 May.
A spokesman for Merseyside police confirmed that a Toyota car was involved in the accident, which happened at the junction with Bewley Drive.
A taxi driver who drove passed the scene of the accident expressed his surprise at the accident:
“God knows how they ended up toppled over. I was shocked – it’s only a 30mph road. There was only one car involved which was on its roof. I couldn’t see any damage nearby, or what they had hit.
I had a fare in Kirkby and saw it when I came up Valley Road. There were a couple of police cars, ambulance workers and a fire crew, so they must have needed to cut them out. There were some cones blocking off the vehicle too, but it’s a dual carriageway so I think they just reduced it to one lane…”
A Merseyside Police spokesman reported:
“A road traffic collision was reported at Valley Road and Bewley Drive, just before 6.50pm. One Toyota vehicle was involved, and there were no serious injuries. One person suffered a slight injury.”
