Father from Wigan is crushed to death at workplace
A 29 year old father was killed at his workplace when an unstable 700kg bale of waste plastic fell on him as he was sweeping the yard of the factory in Ince, Wigan.
A jury at Bolton Coroner’s Court have returned a verdict that the man’s death was accidental. No criminal charges have been brought against the employer, Hitchen Food Limited, but the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is continuing with its investigations.
Jacek Adamowicz, who was working as a supervisor at the time, has left behind his wife Barbara and a three year old son, Patryk. Mrs Adamowicz has said:
We are all devastated that Jacek is gone – he was a loving husband and a devoted father. Patryk is still asking for his dad every night and I have told him that his daddy has gone to sleep for a long time but that he still loves him.
After her husband’s fatal accident, Mrs Adamowicz contacted specialist personal injury solicitors to represent her at the four day inquest regarding her husband’s death.
